Abby Goldman has been a licensed social worker in New York since 2004. She has completed postgraduate training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and trained intensively in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Besides operating a private practice, she has been a mental health therapist in outpatient clinics, hospital, and social welfare agency settings. She holds a Master of Social Work from New York University. Prior to her career in mental health, she earned a PhD from Duke University studying maternal and infant health policy.
Abby has extensive experience treating adults and teenagers with mood disorders, including depression and bipolar disorder. Treatment of bereavement, loss, and trauma has been at the center of her work throughout her career. She is also trained in divorce mediation and is adept at working with families dealing with the particular stressors caused by parental separation and divorce.
